Winter 1

Winter had a bit of a tough beginning. I woke up at 5 am with my mother so she could go to work. She called me in a panic saying she heard a cat in distress outside on the walk to work and she asked me to investigate. She said I didn't have to, but she'd appreciate if I would. I tried going back to sleep in the beginning, but couldn't get my mind to rest. So I went out and almost immediately heard what to me sounded like a old cat with an illness. When I found her, I looked under a little red car, parked by the gutter, Colorado license plates. I saw a dark figure just drop from the engine. It was too tiny to be attached to that voice. She was so young and afraid. I tried to get her, but I was afraid I would run her into the gutter, so I walked away. I looked back and she was bouncing along at a distance behind me then back under the car when I walked to her. We played that game for about 20 minutes and then she went up 2 stairs. I picked her up with my index and thumb, she was so light
