Steve is a tiny ball of energy with a hilarious understanding of the English language.
When you say, "Steve, go to your crate," his brain goes into high gear. He spots the nearest object with four legs and proudly marches under it. Dining chair? Crate. Coffee table? Crate. The bed? Definitely a crate. He sits there entirely convinced that as long as something is over his head, he has followed orders perfectly. He is hidden, he is secure, and he is a very good boy.
When he needs to go potty, Steve knows the bell is the magical key to the outside. However, instead of pushing it with his nose to ring it, he picks the entire bell up in his mouth, trots over, and drops it at your feet. He looks up as if to say, "Here, I brought you the noisemaker. Now do your job."
He is chaotic, brilliant, and completely ridiculous, and life is so much better with him in it.
