Riley 1

Riley Jo crossed the rainbow bridge on January 3, 2026 after a very brief illness. She was my soul cat. She was two months shy of 16. Riley was born in a shed in Mount Sainte-Hilaire, QC, where I rescued her, her brothers & her mom & found homes for all of them. Riley was a playful, ridiculously affectionate girl, but very shy & skittish. Wherever I was was where she wanted to be. When she was 7, I adopted her little brother, Bowie, who helped bring Riley out of her shell. Her favourite toys were sparkly pom poms. There were about 30 of them under various appliances & furniture. Riley didn’t meow, she trilled. It sounded like she was singing. She was the queen of the head bump & was the sweetest cat I have ever known. We miss her every, single day. Bowie & I are comforting one another. On April 3, we introduced a foster kitty, Lily, to our little family. Four days later, I formally adopted her. We think Riley sent her to us. Nobody will ever replace Riley. She was one of a kind 💔
