Garfield

Garfield was surrendered to a shelter when he was diagnosed with diabetes and his former caretaker didn't want to try to deal with it. He was there almost a year before I noticed him on their website. I'd had a diabetic cat before, so that didn't bother me a bit. Diabetes isn't a death sentence and isn't that hard to treat either! The looks on the shelter volunteers faces when I went in and said I wanted to adopt Garfield was priceless since they hadn't had any interest in him since he got there! Now he's living in the lap of luxury (well, as much luxury as I can afford), is doing very well on insulin and is a happy, healthy cat! I adopted him knowing he was a senior, special needs cat, but they need love as much (or more) than the cute kittens or perfect cats! I wouldn't trade him for gold!
