Lady Luck

Lady was found in Feb 2024, deep in the Mojave Desert. She weighed a heartbreaking 14 pounds—about 40 pounds lighter than the weight she carries today. Along with severe starvation, she was peppered with shotgun shrapnel. She had no use of her front legs, and her back right leg was so severely damaged that amputation seemed like the only option.
Fortunately, she overcame every hurdle. It took a massive village: my partner, our vet & their team, and the incredible communities who followed her story.
After she healed, she presented us with another battle. Because of her trauma, Lady had a deeply ingrained, justified fear of men. Being as i am one, early on, my presence alone triggered deep anxieties. Through constant love, she has healed those wounds (atleast with me as a man). In doing so, she became an invaluable teacher, showing me the true meaning of patience. I am a better man and father because of her.
Also, shes a cutie patootie and has the sweetest demeanor to win anyone over.
