Vegeta

Vegeta is five years old and originates from Perú, South America. Three years ago, my wife, who is from there, travelled to visit her family. While she was there, she learned about someone who had a Rottweiler they no longer wanted. We had lost our first Rottweiler, Goku, almost a year earlier, so we were not looking to add another dog, and we already had Goku’s daughter, Maya.

I asked my wife to send me a photo of him, and it was love at first sight. I asked her to begin the paperwork and veterinary clearances needed to bring him to Canada. The process was long and costly, and Canada was about to impose a dog ban on several countries, including Peru. Despite delays that caused him to arrive two days after the ban began, I spent hours at Canadian customs explaining the situation. We introduced him to Maya in a neutral space, and although it took time, they bonded. Months later, Maya had a litter, and we kept one puppy named Goku Jr. Today, the family is complete. He is home now.
