Ellen is a Hurricane Irma rescue, left in a cage to drown at a puppy mill until my friends cut her free. Now almost 9, this Silky–Yorkie mix is my sass-filled, snuggly sidekick.

Last spring, I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer—and she just knew. She became my shadow, my protector, my comfort.

I saved her… but she’s saving me right back. 🐶💛
